The SCORe team is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support supply chain & retail operations work streams, focusing on machine learning, optimization, and simulation sciences. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen in the supply chain & retail operations industry and be familiar with 84.51° and Kroger operations. This role combines technical and research skills with a deep understanding of business operations and most closely aligns with a Machine Learning Engineering (MLE) and/or Statistical Learning (SL) role.

• Lead the development and delivery of analytical plans to support client roadmaps, ensuring the adoption of best practices and innovative ideas.
• Scope and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery to specifications.
• Develop and support MLOPs for production sciences.
• Research and implement optimization models to improve supply chain and retail operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand client objectives and customer insights, designing best‑in‑class solutions.
• Transition project work from discovery to pre‑production using the latest tech stack.
• Partner with engineering, product, and research teams to implement best practices for analysis, storage, and quality assurance.
• Implement software solutions using best practices of coding standards and quality assurance with regards to maintainability and testing.
• Experiment with innovative machine learning methods and conduct analytic experiments to support project development and business objectives; share findings with the team.
• Identify opportunities for standardization and automation of existing solutions/processes, contributing to enhancements that maximize team potential and stakeholder value.
• Interpret business results and develop actionable recommendations from data analysis to build relevant customer stories for stakeholders.
• Contribute to and maintain SCORe documentation.
• Challenge and improve 84.51° analytic capabilities, solutions, and best practices.
• Follow best practices in space/resource management to ensure efficient utilization of analytic resources and timely delivery of business deliverables.
• Partner with leaders across projects to prioritize work, identify risks and opportunities, and streamline team execution.
• Support the near real‑time science delivery of optimization models.
• Lead in upskilling the data science function in new and emerging technologies through trainings, learning pathways, and documentation.
• Support implementation and participate in training plans for the DSR function.
• Deliver enterprise‑wide model results in near real‑time.
• Possess data engineering experience related to manipulating and moving large data sets efficiently.

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, analytics, data science, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in consulting or professional services, with at least 2 years focused on retail operations and supply chains.
• 2+ years of experience using advanced algorithms, programming languages, or technologies to develop technical analytics solutions or capabilities.
• 2+ years experience developing and implementing enterprise‑scale machine learning and/or optimization models.
• 2+ years of experience developing and implementing on cloud solutions (Azure, Databricks, etc.)
• Proficiency in querying data from relational databases.
