SummarySenior Software Development Manager – Azure Dev Ops to join the Public Sector Cloud Engineering team and help unleash the potential of every business.
Responsibilities- Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing Dev Ops team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and security‑first thinking. - Transformation & Delivery:
- Guide the transformation of completed lift‑and‑shift workloads into secure Azure‑native solutions, leveraging Azure services, automation, and best practices.
- Oversee the design and implementation of Azure platform and application landing zones with security and compliance as foundational principles.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Architect, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Bicep and/or Terraform for both platform and application resources, ensuring security controls are codified and versioned.
- Drive adoption of IaC for consistent, repeatable, and automated deployments with integrated security validation.
- Dev Sec Ops & Automation:
- Champion the adoption of Dev Sec Ops practices, integrating security testing and controls into CI/CD pipelines and throughout the SDLC.
- Automate Day 2 operational tasks for application repositories, including monitoring, patching, scaling, backup, and continuous security compliance checks.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance checks are automated and enforced.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with software engineering, security, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver resilient, secure, and compliant cloud solutions.
- Compliance & Security:
- Ensure all solutions meet financial industry regulatory standards and internal security/compliance policies.
- Continuously monitor, audit, and enhance security posture across all Dev Ops processes and cloud resources.
- 3–5+ years of management or leadership experience in a Dev Ops or Cloud Engineering environment.
- 5–8+ years of hands‑on experience in Azure Dev Ops cloud and software development practices.
- Proven experience transforming lift‑and‑shift workloads to Azure‑native architectures and processes, with a focus on security and compliance.
- Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure and Octopus Deploy, including deploying and managing App Services, .NET web apps, Azure SQL Databases, and related services, with security best practices.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep and/or Terraform), including codifying security controls.
- Experience designing and implementing secure Azure platform and application landing zones.
- Proficiency in automating Day 2 operational and security tasks for cloud applications.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Dev Sec Ops tooling (e.g., Azure Dev Ops, Octopus Deploy, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins).
- Previous experience in the financial industry, with a solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts, drive delivery, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and security awareness.
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑400, AZ‑104, AZ‑305).
- Experience with IaC using Octopus Deploy, monitoring/logging tools, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern software development life cycles.
- Experience with security frameworks and tools (e.g., Snyk, SCA, OWASP, SAST/DAST, vulnerability management).
