Senior Security Sales Engineer (Ohio) – North Central Region
Location: Columbus, OH

Position OverviewSenior Security Sales Engineers at GuidePoint Security are experienced professionals who are autonomous, self‑driven, and empowered to manage opportunities from pre‑sales through delivery and control how engagements are scoped and delivered.
Responsibilities- Actively involved in the security technology opportunity lifecycle from pre‑sales through delivery.
- Scope and deliver engagements, ensuring they meet client needs and security goals.
- Collaborate with clients to understand issues and gaps in their security programs and provide tailored solutions.
- Proactively research emerging vendors and technologies to solve client challenges.
- Produce business and technical collateral for both technical and managerial audiences.
- Work remotely/virtually when not on client site or attending events.
- Manage presales activities 100 % of the role.
- Travel up to 25 % within the North Central region.
- MUST be located in Columbus or Cincinnati, Ohio and open to local/regional travel.
- Minimum 5 years in enterprise‑level security consultative, vendor, or operational role building and assessing Information Security architectures and programs.
- Strong soft skills; ability to articulate complex technical content to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Proficiency in multiple security technologies: network security, NGFW, cloud security, data security, vulnerability & risk management, proxy, EDR, IAM, SIEM, analytics.
- Good listener; works with clients to understand gaps and provide solutions.
- Experience researching emerging vendors and technologies.
- Proactive in maturing business and creating new offerings.
- Previous pre‑sales experience strongly preferred.
- Deep proficiency in AI security, network security, NGFW, cloud security, DLP, CASB, proxy, IAM, SIEM/analytics.
- Experience architecting and designing enterprise‑scale security solutions.
- Strong networking and security troubleshooting skills.
- Deep proficiency in client and server operating systems:
Windows, Linux, macOS. - Working knowledge of advanced security concepts: zero trust, defense in depth.
- Experience with Palo Alto, Zscaler, Crowd Strike, Splunk, Cloudflare, Wiz, AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Additional security credentials.
- 5+ years of security engineering experience in the Information Security industry or technical lead for an internal Information Security program.
- Remote workforce primarily (U.S. based only; some travel may be required).
