Windchill Cloud Migration & Upgrades Lead

Roles and Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windchill and its integrations across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Execute Windchill upgrades, including patches, hotfixes, and major version migrations.
• Deploy Windchill solutions on IaaS cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) as per migration and upgrade strategies.
• Manage bulk data migration from on-premises systems to cloud, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
• Configure and validate workflows, lifecycle states, ACLs, and system integrations.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application and database performance.
• Diagnose and resolve system errors using logs and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, database, and business stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison with vendor support (PTC) for issue resolution and enhancements.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and environments.
• Lead and mentor team members during migration and upgrade projects.

• 5–8 years of hands‑on experience in Windchill administration and customization.
• Strong expertise in Windchill installation, configuration, and environment management.
• Experience managing Windchill environments on Linux, Windows, and AWS cloud platforms.
• Proven experience in Windchill upgrades and cloud migration projects.
• Hands‑on experience with:
  • Windchill data utilities
  • Form validators
  • Type and Attribute Manager (soft typing)
  • Loader mechanisms
  • ACLs, workflows, and lifecycle configurations
• Knowledge of JDBC connections and query specifications.
• Experience following best practices for API development and customization.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Perl, or TCL.

• Experience with large‑scale enterprise PLM implementations.
• Exposure to performance tuning and system optimization in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with integration frameworks and third‑party system integrations.
