Job Title: Service Now ITSM Senior Developer
Location: Oakland, CA or Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 12+ Months
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Service Now ITSM Senior Developer to design, develop, and implement scalable Service Now solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ITSM modules, custom development, integrations, and platform architecture, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Technical Competencies- Proven experience as a Service Now ITSM Developer with hands-on implementation of:
- Incident Management
- Problem Management
- Change Management
- Knowledge Management
- Service Catalog
- Mobile App & Virtual Agent
- Ability to configure Service Now applications aligned with approved design frameworks
- Strong experience in:
- JavaScript, Jelly
- Web Services (REST/SOAP)
- XML, HTML, CSS
- Experience with:
- Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, UAT, Performance Testing
- SQL queries and LDAP integration (Oracle, MySQL, Active Directory)
- Knowledge of:
- SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
- ITIL / industry standards
- Experience managing development across:
- Dev, Test, Staging, and Production environments
- High availability and scalable systems
- Mandatory Certification:
Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) - Preferred:
Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- Design and develop Service Now ITSM solutions and custom applications
- Build and manage Service Catalog, including:
- Record Producers
- Catalog Items
- Variables and Variable Sets
- Develop and customize:
- Business Rules
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies, UI Actions, UI Scripts, UI Pages
- Script Includes
- Access Control Lists (ACLs)
- Create and manage:
- Workflows, SLAs
- Import Sets, Update Sets
- Transform Maps for bulk data uploads
- Develop integrations using:
- REST/SOAP APIs
- External system connections
- Implement:
- Security controls and role-based access
- Custom widgets and UI enhancements
- Schedule and manage:
- Jobs, events, and triggers
- Support solution migration across environments
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, retrospectives, etc.)
- Provide training and support to business users
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Service Now platform architecture and modules
- Hands-on experience in custom development and integrations
- Solid knowledge of ITSM and ITOM processes
- Strong foundation in:
- Data structures
- Algorithms
- Operating systems
- Excellent:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
