Service Now Software Engineer IV
Location:
Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)
Length: 6 months
Pay Range: $72-$81
Run and manage the enterprise Unauthorized Change Detection (UCD) program to prevent, detect, and remediate unauthorized changes across critical systems. This role consolidates detection from Service Now, Tripwire, and mainframe DB2/SAVER into a single Service Now-based workflow, automates reconciliation to approved changes, and ensures compliance with ITIL 4 and financial-sector regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Run and manage the Unauthorized Change Detection program, including strategy, governance, metrics, and continuous improvement.
- Consolidate all detection sources into a Service Now workflow and dashboard, ingesting external events into the Service Now Event table.
- Design and maintain automated reconciliation logic that matches detected events to approved changes; drive investigation and remediation for unmatched items.
- Partner with Change Enablement, Security, Infrastructure, App, and Mainframe teams to resolve unauthorized changes and prevent recurrence.
- Oversee Service Now integrations, data mapping, workflow design, dashboards, and operational reporting.
- Ensure alignment with ITIL 4 best practices and OCC/FFIEC change management expectations.
- Prepare evidence for internal audit and regulatory exams; maintain clear documentation and control design.
- Lead a small cross-functional team and influence key stakeholders.
- 7+ years in ITSM, Change Enablement, Platform/SRE Ops, or Security Operations in a regulated financial environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Service Now Change, Event/ITOM, CMDB/CSDM, and workflow automation (Flow Designer, Integration Hub).
- Experience with Tripwire, mainframe reporting (DB2/SAVER), or similar detection/FIM tools.
- Demonstrated ability to build or oversee automated reconciliation between detection sources and approved changes.
- Solid understanding of ITIL 4 (Change Enablement, Monitoring & Event Management).
- Strong governance, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including root-cause and corrective action.
- Excellent communication skills for executive reporting and audit/regulator interaction.
- ITIL 4 Managing Professional;
Service Now CIS certifications; CISA/CISM/CRISC. - Experience improving change quality, reducing false positives, and designing control dashboards.
- Understanding of NIST, OCC, FFIEC change/configuration management expectations.
- Knowledge of Dev Ops pipelines, cloud change/event signals, or CI/CD reconciliation.
