Job Summary

The Network Administrator, Security Operations Support is responsible for administering, securing, and continuously improving the enterprise network and security monitoring capabilities. This role assists with the design, deployment, and operation of Cisco Meraki or equivalent SD‑WAN and switching environments, maintains Cisco licensing compliance, and partners with Security Operations to ensure SIEM telemetry is complete, high quality, and actionable. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, documentation‑mindful, and comfortable balancing operational reliability with security best practices.

Key

Duties

Network & Security Operations (Meraki or equivalent) SD‑WAN and Switching

  • Assist with administration of Cisco Meraki or equivalent Dashboard for SD‑WAN, security appliances, and switching across sites (templates, policies, firmware, and configuration standards).
  • Configure and maintain SD‑WAN uplinks, VPN topologies (AutoVPN/site‑to‑site), traffic shaping, QoS, and failover to support business‑critical applications.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of network segmentation and access control (VLANs, ACLs, port security, 802.1X/MAB where applicable) following least privilege principles.
  • Help manage Meraki equivalent switch configuration, stacking, PoE budgets, and lifecycle (firmware, replacements, and standard builds).
  • Troubleshoot routine network issues and escalate complex problems to manager.

Security Monitoring & Response Enablement (Rapid7 SIEM or equivalent)

  • Assist in maintaining network and security log sources and validate log collection under established procedures (Rapid7 SIEM, Meraki equivalent events, syslog, authentication, DNS, VPN, and firewall telemetry).
  • Validate log coverage, parsing, time synchronization, and retention to support investigations, compliance, and alerting reliability.
  • Partner with Security Operations to tune detection logic, reduce false positives, and create dashboards/queries for network‑relevant use cases.
  • Help support incident response by providing network‑level evidence (flows, device events, VPN history, and configuration changes) and supporting incident response activities by gathering network data and documentation as directed.

Cisco Licensing & Asset Governance

  • Assist with the maintenance of accurate inventories for Meraki equivalent hardware and licenses; manage renewals, co‑term/subscription alignment, and entitlement changes.
  • Coordinate with procurement, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely renewals and avoid service interruptions.
  • Maintain licensing records, inventory documentation and related administrative records to support internal audits and vendor compliance.

Security Best Practices, Hardening & Compliance

  • Apply established network security standards, including secure configurations, change control, backups and least‑privilege administration.
  • Support secure remote access technologies (VPN connectivity and MFA‑enabled solutions) in accordance with established policies.
  • Contribute to network security standards, runbooks, and SOPs; participate in tabletop exercises and post‑incident reviews.
  • Partner with IT and Security teams on network improvement initiatives and provide technical support for security‑related projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science required; industry certifications (CCNA/CCNP, Cisco Meraki or equivalent CMNA, or security certifications (Security+, SSCP, or equivalent)…
