A Day in the Life of a Project Manager II
As a Project Manager II, you will lead strategic technology and business initiatives that drive organizational growth and operational excellence. You will follow Western & Southern's project management methodology to successfully plan, execute, monitor, and deliver projects on time and within scope.
In this role, you will:- Develop and maintain detailed project plans using Microsoft Project.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across IT and business areas.
- Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder communications.
- Publish meeting minutes, action items, and project status reports.
- Identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Escalate issues appropriately and provide recommendations to keep projects on track.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Project.
- Service Now
- Modern Requirement, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Dev Ops, or similar collaboration and project management tools.
- Support both Waterfall and Agile project delivery, depending on the needs of the initiative
- 5+ years of project management experience leading medium to large cross-functional technology or business projects.
- Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
- PMP certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Nice to have: ITIL certification or Six Sigma certifications
