Cybersecurity, Systems Engineer
Position Summary
Encore is seeking a highly skilled Security Architect to join our Professional Services team, focused on post‑sales delivery and implementation of enterprise cybersecurity solutions. In this role, you will lead the design validation, deployment, and optimization of complex, multi‑vendor security architectures for our customers.
This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing position responsible for ensuring that solutions are successfully delivered, fully operational, and aligned to business and security outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesSolution Delivery & Implementation
- Lead end‑to‑end deployment of enterprise security solutions across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Translate high‑level designs into detailed implementation plans and configurations
- Validate and refine architectures to ensure scalability, performance, and security effectiveness
Customer Engagement
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout delivery
- Conduct design workshops, technical reviews, and implementation sessions
- Provide guidance on security best practices and long‑term roadmap alignment
Security Technologies
- Network Security (NGFW, SASE, Zero Trust)
- Endpoint Security (EDR/XDR)
- Identity & Access Management (IAM, MFA, PAM)
- Cloud Security (CSPM, CNAPP, workload protection)
- SIEM/SOAR platforms
- Data Security (DLP, encryption)
Integration & Automation
- Integrate security solutions into existing infrastructure and workflows
- Develop automation and orchestration using APIs and scripting
- Ensure interoperability across platforms for end‑to‑end visibility
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Develop high‑quality design documentation
- Deliver knowledge transfer sessions to customer operations teams
Troubleshooting & Escalation
- Act as senior escalation point for complex technical issues
- Collaborate with vendor support and engineering teams to resolve challenges
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend improvements
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with pre‑sales teams to refine designs and improve service delivery
- Contribute to service development, best practices, and reusable methodologies
- Mentor junior engineers
- Other duties as assigned
- 8 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, architecture, or consulting
- Proven track record delivering complex security solutions in enterprise environments
- Experience working in a services, consulting, or VAR environment preferred
- Network security and segmentation expertise
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud security architectures
- Identity and access management solutions
- Endpoint detection and response platforms
- SIEM/SOAR and security analytics
- Zero Trust frameworks
- Relevant vendor certifications (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Zscaler)
- CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or equivalent
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer‑facing abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Focus on delivering measurable outcomes and customer success
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional walking between facilities and/or at customer worksites
- Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling up to 15 lbs.
- Travel 25% (as needed)
