Junior Analyst – Responsibilities

• Builds strong relationships with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop an in‑depth understanding of key business functions and the processes they support.
• Elicits business information using techniques such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process analysis, use‑case scenarios and other business analysis activities.
• Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources to reconcile conflicts, decompose high‑level information into details, abstract from low‑level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying business needs.
• Understands the importance of process standardization and facilitates discussions with the business to define “as‑is” and “to‑be” business process design and supporting business rules.
• Provides clearly written documentation, including business requirements and processes, to ensure traceability from business analysis through solution design and delivery; documentation should be clearly understood by both business stakeholders and the solution provider.
• Works closely with program leads and application owners to ensure business requirements are understood and that the solution addresses complex business challenges.
• Coordinates with key users or user groups to determine impact of proposed changes in systems and ensure solutions stay in line with business needs.
• Serves as a liaison between end users, project and support teams, collaborating on the validation of deliverables and ensuring process modifications are documented and communicated effectively.
• Works with Strategic Integrator to elicit required information from the business for deliverables and functional requirements, ensuring the business requirements are translated into detailed functional specifications that enable implementation or enhancement of business systems.
• Communicates regularly with business stakeholders, acting as a liaison between the business and the solution provider to manage expectations of the scope of business requirements on solution delivery.
• Maintains visibility into all planned and ongoing projects, and ensures that the impacts of these activities on the business organization are communicated to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Engages IT and business leadership to manage business demand and align it with the organization’s capacity to supply solutions.
• Directs feedback from the business organization to IT leadership, keeping them apprised of issues, concerns and normal‑operations impact.
• Assists in coordinating change requests for current business applications to support business requirements, ensuring changes are managed effectively and communicated appropriately.
• Identifies business areas of improvement, process improvements and opportunities to increase effectiveness and proficiency.
• Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging technology trends and developments relevant to the business.
• Understands business priorities, provides input to portfolio management teams and identifies opportunities where technology solutions can be leveraged.
• Identifies, researches and presents new initiatives that may require IT involvement.
• Contributes to business case development and statement of requirements, assisting with the creation of business cases.
• Complies with the standards defined within the BA Community of Practice.
• Assists in the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users, including logging support tickets.
• Creates and maintains documentation, including user guides and FAQs, to help end users perform common IT tasks.
• Assists in the installation and configuration of software applications and updates.

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience with one or more technologies.
• Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and systems.
• Proficiency in operating systems and common software applications.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and customer‑service skills.
