Location:
Blue Ash, OH (On-site) Duration: 18 months (Contract to Hire)
You'll be the escalation engineer who runs P1/P2 war rooms, drives incident response to resolution, and leads post-incident analysis that prevents repeat outages. You'll partner directly with developers across the SDLC, contribute code and design for durable fixes, and maintain operational runbooks, monitoring, and automation. Travel to regional sites and occasional on-site go-lives is required (approx. every 4 weeks). The role participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Must-haves:
- Proven experience leading major incident management (running bridges/war-rooms for P1/P2).
- Strong RCA/problem-management experience with examples of driving corrective actions to closure.
- Production troubleshooting across mixed environments; comfortable using logs and monitoring dashboards.
Preferred:
- Exposure to Point of Sale systems, Java, or Go.
- Familiarity with SQL/No
SQL databases, scripting (Shell, Power Shell, Python), and monitoring/ITSM tools (Service Now, Splunk, Grafana, Jira). - Knowledge of PCI-DSS or willingness to learn.
