Junior DevOps Engineer

Avanade is seeking a Junior Dev Ops Engineer to support the implementation of modern Dev Ops solutions across cloud and platform ecosystems, with a strong emphasis on Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops, and CI/CD modernization. This role focuses on hands-on delivery, automation, and standardization, including supporting large-scale platform migrations (e.g., Git Hub Enterprise adoption) and driving efficient, repeatable engineering practices. You will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and client teams to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready Dev Ops solutions.

• Support implementation of CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops, or similar platforms
• Contribute to migration efforts (e.g., Azure Dev Ops → Git Hub, CI/CD modernization)
• Assist in building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent)
• Troubleshoot build, release, and environment issues across development life cycles
• Apply secure engineering practices including code scanning, testing, and policy enforcement

• Leverage automation and AI-assisted tooling (e.g., Copilot) to improve delivery speed and consistency
• Contribute to reusable templates, modules, and standardized Dev Ops patterns
• Reduce manual effort through scripting and pipeline optimization

• Work with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support end-to-end delivery
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement and technical tasks
• Support knowledge sharing through documentation and team collaboration

• Monitor pipeline health and deployment reliability
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce cost, and simplify processes
• Support implementation of logging, monitoring, and basic operational practices

• 1+ year of hands-on experience in software development, IT, or Dev Ops-related work (including internships, co-ops, or equivalent practical experience)
• Technical Skills - Foundational knowledge of:
• Git-based version control (Git Hub preferred)
• CI/CD concepts and tooling
• Scripting (Power Shell, Bash, or Python)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and basic services
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts (Terraform or similar)
• Dev Ops Fundamentals – Understanding of:
• CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Branching strategies and code management
• Agile or iterative delivery models

• Experience with Git Hub (Actions, workflows, repositories, migrations)
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) or Kubernetes concepts
• Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops  practices (code scanning, secrets management)
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot)
• Exposure to enterprise environments or consulting engagements
