Systems Administrator, Windows Server
Act as the primary point of contact and technical owner for assigned enterprise applications and platforms. Support and maintain SaaS and on-premise applications, ensuring performance, availability, and adherence to service level expectations. This individual will serve as the primary administrator and technical owner for several business-critical applications, supporting both SaaS and Windows-based platforms. They will partner closely with end users, vendors, and internal IT teams to ensure system stability, drive enhancements, troubleshoot complex issues, and support ongoing upgrades.
Success in this role requires someone who enjoys solving problems, taking initiative, and becoming the go-to SME for applications that may not always have clear documentation or established processes.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, infrastructure, user provisioning, authentication, and configuration issues.
- Manage application lifecycle activities, including installations, upgrades, patches, enhancements, and vendor-released updates.
- Monitor system health, respond to outages, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues through resolution.
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, investigate system issues, and validate enhancements prior to production deployment.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Database, Enterprise Architecture, and vendor teams to support integrations and system improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, configuration standards, and knowledge base articles.
- Assist with application testing, automation efforts, and validation of new functionality and upgrades.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate manual tasks, and increase operational efficiency across supported platforms.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of System Administration/Application Support experience supporting SaaS and Windows-based applications.
- Strong background in infrastructure, system configuration, user provisioning, application upgrades, and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Experience supporting enterprise tools and working directly with end users, vendors, and cross-functional IT teams.
- Knowledge of APIs/Web Services, technical documentation, and automation/testing concepts.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting enterprise vendor-managed application, and Windows-based environments.
- Automation testing experience or exposure to QA/SDET practices.
- Experience supporting application upgrades, installations, migrations, and full application lifecycle management.
- Experience working closely with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Database, Security/Info Sec, and external vendors.
- Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and troubleshooting application-to-application connectivity issues.
