As a crucial member of Hamilton County's Information Technology team in the role of PC Specialist 2, you will specialize in delivering advanced technical support for personal computers, peripheral equipment, and PC-based applications. This role requires addressing complex hardware and software challenges, optimizing system performance, and actively contributing to the county's overall computer systems' efficiency.

Summary of

Job Duties:
  • Provides specialized technical support for departments under the Board of County Commissioners personal computers, peripheral equipment (e.g., monitors, hard drives, interface cards, printers, etc.), and PC-based applications and operating system software.
  • Assists personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.
  • Provides Tier 2 technical support for the most complex and unusual problems to identify and implement corrective action.
  • Assess infrastructure and assists in the implementation of procedures, policies, and practices for technical applications including workstation security, virus/intruder protection,
  • May assist manager with vendor coordination and management of Tier 2 level support and system administration of server systems and network devices located in the departments.
  • Oversees installation, testing, repairs, and corrective action of other LAN devices including but not limited to other computer peripherals; systems; repair and maintenance of laptops, printers, operating systems or application software.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in computer science/electronics.
  • one (1) year of progressive experience in PC technical support
  • or four (4) years of progressive education and/or experience in PC technical support
  • demonstrated expertise with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and the MS Office suite.
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator and CompTIA A+ certification must be obtained within 12 months.
  • Driver’s License issued by the state of residency
  • must be able to maintain a flexible schedule and willing to work overtime
  • must be willing to support agency satellite office
  • required to carry a cell phone

OR PC Specialist 1

  • Associate degree in computer science/electronics
  • Or three (3) years of directly related experience in PC technical support.
  • Working knowledge and/or experience with a variety of business software packages. including Windows operating systems or MS Office suite applications.
  • Must obtain Comp TIA A+ Certification upon completion of probationary period.
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule and willing to work overtime.
  • Must be willing to support agency satellite office.
  • Required to carry a cell phone.
Work Location and

Hours:
  • 800 Broadway, Cincinnati, Oh. 45202
  • 40 hour work week, generally between core hours of 7:30-5:30
