Platform Engineer

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Platform Engineer to fill an open position with one of our clients in the financial services industry. This role will support a mission-critical market risk platform, helping ensure the stability, reliability, and scalability of systems used for regulatory, stress testing, and daily risk reporting. The ideal candidate will combine platform engineering and production support experience with strong troubleshooting and Python skills, while developing expertise in market risk technology.

• Support production processing by monitoring batch jobs, diagnosing failures, troubleshooting data issues, and supporting critical regulatory and stress-testing cycles.
• Maintain and configure platform environments, including upgrades, patching, configuration changes, performance tuning, and reliability improvements.
• Automate manual processes and develop operational tooling using Python or similar scripting technologies to improve platform stability and efficiency.
• Partner with Risk, Quant, Data, Infrastructure, and vendor teams to resolve incidents, perform root-cause analysis, improve operational resilience, and maintain technical documentation.

• 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, production support, or systems engineering.
• 3+ years of experience supporting batch-oriented, compute-intensive platforms in production environments.
• Strong Python scripting experience with the ability to automate operational processes and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across applications, platforms, and data-processing workflows.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and familiarity with SQL, scheduling tools, monitoring, and observability technologies.
• Experience with capital markets, market risk, Adaptiv, or risk analytics platforms is highly preferred, with knowledge of concepts such as VaR, sensitivities, or stress testing considered a plus.
