Insurance Brokerage Co-Op/Internship

The purpose of the Co-Op/Internship is to provide exposure and experience in the insurance brokerage industry. This Co-Op/Internship is ideal for college students interested in pursuing a career in insurance brokerage. Participants will work on assignments and projects designed to gain hands-on experience in servicing a portfolio of insurance customers. Through this comprehensive experience, successful participants will emerge with an overview and understanding of the primary functions of an insurance brokerage office.

Areas of exposure include account management, sales, compliance, communication, underwriting, analytics, and overall business acumen.

Responsibilities:

• Shadow employees in various service team functions. Includes Employee Benefits, Commercial Lines, Personal Risk Services, and insurance processes.
• Participate in internal team meetings.
• Participate in professional development seminars.
• Perform data analysis using multiple internal systems.
• Participate in virtual and in-person training to enhance knowledge of USI's businesses.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• This is a hybrid work opportunity, Monday – Friday, with four days in the office and one day remote.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college as a rising junior or senior.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Detailed oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Resourceful, eager to learn new concepts, and further professional development.
• Possess exceptional time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a defined sense of urgency.
• Ability to deliver creative solutions to problems.
• Experience planning, creating, and delivering dynamic presentations.
