Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement and material planning activities for a Long-term Contract position in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role focuses on maintaining supply continuity, coordinating priorities across purchased materials and outside services, and helping the team respond proactively to potential supply issues. The ideal candidate brings strong purchasing experience, works confidently in ERP systems, and communicates effectively with internal planning and supply chain partners.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee active purchase orders and keep planning records current to support accurate material visibility and timely decision-making.

- Establish purchasing priorities for subcontracted services, bought-in parts, and raw materials based on business and production needs.

- Revise supplier delivery dates in their ERP platform so order timing remains aligned with updated planning requirements.

- Contribute to the development of reporting tools and dashboards that highlight supply chain exposure and communicate emerging risks to stakeholders.

- Support material allocation efforts by helping balance inventory commitments and shifting selected demand into future fiscal periods when needed to meet working capital objectives.

- Partner with planners, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve order issues, shortages, and scheduling conflicts that could affect operations.

Requirements

- Experience in a Buyer or purchasing role with responsibility for managing purchase orders and supplier follow-up.

- Working knowledge of ERP and comfort updating order dates, planning data, and procurement records in system.

- Ability to prioritize multiple material categories, including outside services, components, and raw materials, in a fast-paced environment.

- Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and broader ERP-based purchasing processes.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify supply risk and support reporting or dashboard development.

- Effective communication and coordination skills for working with planning, supply chain, and supplier partners.

- Understanding of inventory, allocation, and financial considerations such as working capital impacts.

- Exposure to EHR systems or credit risk management is considered an asset.
