Overview

Facilities Technicians are expected to diagnose building and equipment problems and make necessary repairs in a timely and efficient manner. They carry out preventive maintenance on process equipment, plant systems, and equipment, and document all maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute work order requests managed through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist with calibration of equipment and systems at scheduled intervals.
  • Regularly inspect and assess operating conditions of assigned equipment and analyze trends to improve preventive and prescriptive maintenance plans.
  • Diagnose problems with building facilities, utilities, and equipment.
  • Assist with installation of equipment, adhering to basic safety and maintenance procedures for new equipment.
  • Communicate and coordinate work with outside contractors and services companies.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate with manufacturers and vendors to obtain replacement parts as needed.
  • Record all preventive maintenance, repairs, and other equipment services in appropriate document or digital format in accordance with Good Documentation Practices and GMP records retention.
  • Edit and/or write SOPs and PM procedures as needed.
  • Write deviation reports and work with multiple departments to ensure reports are thorough, accurate, and completed on or before assigned deadlines.
Job Knowledge & Experience
  • High school diploma required.
  • Association’s Degree, Certification, or License in any relevant maintenance trade preferred.
  • General understanding of key elements of process maintenance: safety, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and piping systems, pumps, compressors, valves, controls, and chemical handling.
  • 5+ years of maintenance/repair experience.
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment is preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push/lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching, using fine motor skills as required.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Working in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints, dust, etc. with proper PPE.
Salary

Annualized salary range: $75,000.00 - $91,800.00.
