CDC works in close collaboration with the Cincinnati corporate community and City of Cincinnati to carry out its mission. With an annual operating budget of $26 million, the organization has a team of approximately 170 full-time staff and 180 part-time staff engaged in real estate development, real estate management, civic space management and programming and business district management.

CDC leases and manages over 660,000 square feet of commercial space and over 5,100 parking spaces with annual operating revenues exceeding $32 million. - Civic Space Management and Programming - 3
CDC manages and programs six civic spaces – Fountain Square, Washington Park, Ziegler Park, Memorial Hall, Court Street Plaza and Imagination Alley. 3
CDC hosts nearly 1,600 free family-friendly events each year at these spaces. - Business District Management – The organization manages two special improvement districts – the Downtown Cincinnati Improvement District and Over-the-Rhine South Special Improvement District – providing clean and safe services, homeless outreach, beatification efforts and marketing support to both districts.
The Commercial Leasing Manager supports the EVP in overseeing the organization's commercial leasing portfolio. This role manages day-to-day leasing operations, coordinates the team's workflow, and leads negotiations on assigned deals. The Manager helps execute leasing strategies, ensures compliance with organizational policies, and collaborates across departments to support asset performance and civic space activation.
TasksThe Commercial Leasing Manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Support the EVP in developing and executing annual leasing strategies to optimize occupancy, tenant mix, and revenue across the commercial portfolio.
- Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, and emerging trends to inform leasing strategy and deal structures.
- Oversee the leasing pipeline, ensuring timely movement of prospects through discovery, underwriting, LOI, and lease execution stages.
- Prepare and present leasing updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Tenant Recruitment & Relationship Management
- Spearhead proactive recruitment of retail, office, and restaurant tenants, ensuring consistent outreach and follow-up by the leasing team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing tenants, brokers, and community partners.
- Conduct needs assessments, evaluating business concepts, and matching prospects with appropriate spaces.
- Negotiations & Deal Execution
- In coordination with EVP, lead negotiations for complex or high-impact deals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and risk tolerance.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to underwrite competitive and financially sound deal terms. Oversee the drafting, review, and execution of LOIs, leases, and amendments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
- Coordinate signing sessions and ensure all documentation is completed and archived appropriately.
- Partner with the Commercial Buildout Team during early phases of tenant buildout to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and tenant expectations.
