Shelterhouse is seeking a Residential Manager to oversee and elevate daily shelter operations. This is more than a management role, it s an opportunity to lead with purpose, strengthen a highly impactful team, and directly influence the safety, care, and dignity of every resident who walks through the door.
In this role, you will supervise and support a team of residential operations staff and front desk receptionists, ensuring consistent high-quality service delivery. You’ll foster a safe and secure environment by enforcing policies, conducting ongoing staff training, managing staff scheduling, monitoring key operational metrics, and leading monthly RA meetings. Your leadership will directly shape the culture, consistency, and effectiveness of shelter operations.

Responsibilities- Lead and supervise residential operations staff, including hiring, coaching, corrective action, and terminations.
- Lead and supervise front desk receptionists at the Barron Center with full oversight of hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Provide ongoing guidance, training, and support to ensure the highest level of resident care and staff performance.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents and staff by enforcing shelter policies and procedures.
- Manage and generate staff scheduling for all operations team members.
- Identify operational improvement opportunities, including ongoing training and development initiatives.
- Monitor RA performance metrics to ensure outcomes and service goals are met.
- Facilitate monthly RA meetings and ensure consistent communication and follow-through.
- High school Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of management experience
- Knowledge or experience in working with the homeless, mentally ill, and/or substance abusing populations if a plus
- Must be able to work a 2nd shift schedule with flexibility for various schedules for training and shift coverage purposes.
- Ability to work in a high energy environment
- Ability to control situations when they start to get out of hand
