Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview

Vannin Chief of Staff has been retained by the CEO of a founder-led, family-owned platform that develops and operates a growing portfolio of behavioral health businesses. Headquartered in the Midwest, the platform is expanding across multiple verticals and launching new initiatives under a shared umbrella, creating a fast-moving environment with many parallel priorities and stakeholders. With a mission centered on improving lives, the organization offers a meaningful opportunity to drive execution and lasting impact across a scaled, multi-business platform.

Chief of Staff Role

Our client is seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as the trusted right hand to its Founder & CEO, and a connective force across a growing portfolio of businesses. This is a full-time, in-person role, with deep day-to-day integration into the CEO’s operating rhythm and priorities.

The Chief of Staff will play a central role in turning leadership priorities into consistent execution: building structure, operating cadence, and accountability across multiple business lines and stakeholders. Acting as the glue across the platform, this leader will remove friction, unblock progress, and ensure follow-through in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment where outcomes matter more than titles.

This is a high-trust, long-term seat designed for a career Chief of Staff (or adjacent operator) who wants to build enduring leverage for a founder over time, not a short-term rotational role or stepping-stone to a near-term P&L track. This role operates at a Vice President-equivalent level in terms of influence and trust, despite not owning a formal P&L. The right person will grow in scope through impact and partnership, earning influence by doing the work and becoming indispensable to how the platform operates.

This will be a full-time, exempt position in Cincinnati, OH

Responsibilities
  • Executive Team Leadership and Company Strategy: Serve as the CEO’s right-hand operator, helping translate priorities into clear plans, sequencing work, and ensuring follow-through across the portfolio

  • Operations: Build and continuously refine the operating cadence that reduces chaos and increases leverage for the CEO (e.g., weekly priorities, leadership check-ins, cross-business reviews, and quarterly planning)

  • Communications: Support clear, direct communication from the CEO to leaders and teams, ensuring priorities, expectations, and decisions are understood and acted on

  • Additional Leadership and Execution: Act as the connective glue across business lines and leaders, driving alignment, resolving blockers, and pushing decisions to closure in a fast-paced environment

  • Meeting and Cadence Management: Elevate the effectiveness of key meetings and rhythms by setting tight agendas, ensuring the right stakeholders and inputs are present, and driving crisp action items and accountability after each touchpoint

  • Operational Delivery: Track progress across multiple parallel initiatives and stakeholders; surfacing risks early, unblocking execution, and creating reliable mechanisms for follow-through

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement practical process improvements that increase speed, clarity, and coordination across teams, while staying hands-on with both high- and low-glamour work

  • New Initiatives: Temporarily own and build new functions or initiatives (e.g., hiring, vendor transition, early execution), then transition ownership to functional leaders once operationally stable
