Chief Legal Officer
The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive compliance and ethics program that supports the company’s mission, protects its reputation, and ensures adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. As a key member of the Legal Team, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer the CCO serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CLO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and transparency across the enterprise.
WhatYou Will Do
- Strategic Compliance Leadership. Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and the primary compliance advisor to the CED, CLO, Board of Directors, and Audit & Compliance Committee. Develop and lead a comprehensive compliance and ethics strategy aligned with business goals while ensuring regulatory and ethical integrity. Anticipate regulatory risks and emerging compliance trends across healthcare, pharma, technology, and data operations.
- Compliance Program Development & Oversight. Design, implement, and manage a robust compliance and ethics program encompassing policies, procedures, training, and auditing/monitoring activities. Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA, FDA, Anti-Kickback, and other healthcare and data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and Media Rating Council (MRC). Oversee compliance education programs that promote accountability across the organization. In collaboration with the Legal team, lead internal investigations and ensure timely resolution and corrective actions.
- Governance, Risk, and Reporting. Partner with the General Counsel and other executives to align compliance, privacy, risk, and legal strategies. Provide regular compliance updates and reports to the CLO, Board, and Audit & Compliance Committee. Maintain confidential reporting systems for compliance concerns and ensure protection against retaliation.
- Monitoring, Auditing, and Continuous Improvement. Direct internal audits, risk assessments, and monitoring programs to identify and mitigate compliance risks. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. Stay abreast of evolving regulations and enforcement trends, updating policies and training accordingly .
- Leadership & Culture. Build and lead a high-performing compliance team that exemplifies collaboration, transparency, and integrity. Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct that supports informed decision-making and organizational accountability. Partner with Human Resources, Operations, Legal, and business leaders to embed compliance into all aspects of company operations .
- 10+ years of compliance experience building a compliance program or legal experience which includes advising the compliance organization.
- Experience managing a group of compliance professionals.
- 5+ years of healthcare and pharma experience
- Experience interacting with Boards of Directors.
- Experience building relationships with cross-functional business partners.
- Chief Compliance Officer experience.
- Experience evaluating risk either as a lawyer or business professional.
- Experience building a compliance program including drafting policies and procedures, overseeing audits, providing compliance training, and providing balanced advice.
- Exceptional judgment and business acumen with ability to translate complex compliance and ethical issues into a well-balanced compliance program.
