Summary
Service Shop Foreman – supervises service technicians and ensures productive use of shop space and equipment. The focus is on increasing customer uptime, reducing dwell time, and ensuring quality repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Assigns repair orders, plans, and controls the distribution of work.
- Supervises repair performance and assists technicians in performing problem repairs.
- Informs service writer of delays in work performance, necessary repair order extensions, and additional service needs.
- Ensures high efficiency of productive employees, analyzes reasons for comebacks.
- Maintains the inventory of tools and equipment. Submits proposals for the purchase of new tools and equipment to the Service Manager.
- Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of oil, grease, shop supplies, cleaning equipment, and material.
- Establishes and ensures adherence to the maintenance schedule for service facility and shop equipment.
- Supervises and trains technicians and other shop personnel.
- Establishes and monitors on-the-job training programs for all productive service employees.
- Ensures a proper library of manuals, service bulletins, instructions, and references for technicians, equipment, and service operations is maintained and properly used.
- Keeps abreast of shop methods, tools, and techniques.
- Makes recommendations regarding the employment of shop personnel.
- Performs service writing and warranty administration details as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

- Heavy Duty Truck / Bus Repair Experience
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Position requires a valid drivers license and the ability to operate motor vehicles. All drivers must maintain a safe driving record.
- Current Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not required.
- Working hours:
The individual may be required to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, or extended hours based on the repair shop's operational needs. They may also need to be available for on-call or emergency situations.
- Mobility:
The individual should be capable of moving around the repair shop, including walking, standing, and potentially bending or kneeling to inspect vehicles or equipment. - Vision:
Good eyesight and visual acuity are important for the individual to oversee repairs, inspect components, read technical manuals, and ensure quality control. - Hearing:
