Safety & Health Manager - Grid Solution Job Summary
This is a mid-level office position, which is accountable for implementing and maintaining the company's division and project Safety and Health Procedures. Acts as an interface between project sites, corporate offices and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage several project safety and health performance. Implements, administers and maintains Drug and Alcohol Substance Abuse Program for the company and projects. Develops and conducts employee safety and health training programs.
- Conduct site safety and health inspections and safety and health program audits. Conduct incident and injury/illness investigations. Write detailed investigation and safety and health progress reports.
- Interface with clients and government officials. Administer company worker's compensation programs and procedures.
- Develop and implement safety and health programs that assist projects and division to meet company and division safety and health goals and expectations. Develop project specific safety and health and loss control programs and processes.
- May act as Safety and Health Consultant for internal and external clients. May act as temporary project fill-in for lower level safety and health professionals.
- Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports. Act as mentor to other safety and health professionals.
- Identify and assess improvement opportunities that add value. Champion continuous improvement efforts. Assess and support the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. Proactively support, encourage and facilitate staff to engage in continuous improvement activities.
- Supervise Safety and Health Intern, Safety and Health Specialist 1, 2, and 3, Safety and Health Manager 1 and 2.
Bachelor's Degree, advanced safety and health certification. 5+ years in a construction environment, 7+ years safety and health experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications- Ability to travel 25‑50%.
- Knowledge of safety and health standards and practices.
- Knowledge of company substance abuse policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of construction contracting strategies and contract administration.
- Knowledge of insurance program administration including owner‑controlled and contractor‑controlled insurance programs.
- Knowledge of worker's compensation policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of project and division safety and health budgeting and cost control.
- Knowledge of environmental laws and company and client programs, procedures.
- Knowledge of security risk and control processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of company safety and health consultation capabilities and ability to perform as a consultant.
- Ability to effectively interface with client and government officials.

- Ability to effectively manage emergency situations.
- Word processing and spreadsheet computer software programs.
- Ability to write detailed reports.

First Aid, CPR, Drug testing certified, OSHA 500/501, Safety and Health Program Administration, OSHA 10 hour.
Work Environment / Physical Demands Physical Demands- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
- See and hear naturally or with correction.
