Job Summary
A respected organization dedicated to providing quality affordable housing is seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee residential housing communities. This position is responsible for managing day‑to‑day property operations, maintaining high occupancy levels, ensuring lease compliance, supporting residents, and supervising property management staff.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience managing residential properties in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of residential housing properties, including family, elderly, and scattered‑site housing
- Ensure timely rent collection and consistent lease enforcement
- Conduct property inspections and daily site visits
- Market available units and assist with leasing activities
- Perform annual unit inspections and address lease violations as needed
- Coordinate resident communications and resolve tenant concerns
- Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure properties are well‑maintained and visually appealing
- Participate in annual budgeting and property performance planning
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate property management staff
- Process timesheets, payroll adjustments, and other administrative functions
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Deliver exceptional customer service to residents and stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Property Management, Urban Studies, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and property management experience will be considered
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Experience with subsidized or affordable housing programs is preferred
- Union environment experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle check
- Ability to travel between properties as needed
- Stable full‑time opportunity
