Overview:
The Manager in Corporate Strategy plays two key roles: guiding the forward strategy of the bank through Strategic Planning and ensuring regulatory compliance of these processes. The role partners with business leaders to develop, evaluate, and align new strategies, and leads the development of the bank’s strategic plan.
- Identify and analyze opportunities and develop thoughtful, targeted research plans for broad research tasks.
- Develop strategic fact‑based and market‑intelligence benchmarking to highlight customer and competitor trends, financial analysis, business practices, and macro issues to address enterprise‑wide priorities.
- Structure complex and ambiguous problems, synthesize insights, develop innovative business strategies, and make logically supported recommendations.
- Select and effectively execute the most appropriate quantitative analysis techniques for each problem.
- Create processes, tools, and frameworks to enable a consistent strategic planning process across the organization.
- Tailor communications in method and tone based on the intended audience and purpose, ensuring they achieve their goals.
- Plan and lead meetings and working sessions with mid‑to senior‑level business leaders.
- Provide employees timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback.
- Develop employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance career growth.
- Develop the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning.
- Recognize and reward employees for accomplishments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field. MBA or Master’s degree in a business‑related field preferred.
- Background in management consulting or banking and 4 to 6 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to manage people, vendors, processes, capital, and time effectively to achieve business goals.
- Comfort in working with the unknown; everyday situations can differ.
- Ability to be highly effective in a team‑oriented environment and build relationships based on added value, not title or authority.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple, complex projects with a proven track record for results.
- Previous experience successfully introducing and implementing strategic initiatives and operational change initiatives.
- Experience operating in an environment that stresses both individual accountability and team‑based performance.
- A sense of urgency and continual drive for results coupled with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership.
- Proven track record of successfully collaborating with and influencing senior leadership and peers to support growth and financial results.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills necessary to interact with all organizational levels.
- Very strong attention to detail in written communication.
The base salary for this position reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries will vary based on role, relevant skill set, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, the role may participate in an incentive compensation plan based on company, line of business, and/or individual performance.
