Audit Project Manager II Responsibilities
- Ensure execution of audit activities in planning, testing, reporting, and wrap‑up phases in compliance with the Audit Division’s methodology and standards.
- Collaborate with audit team members to plan projects, develop risk and control assessments, and prepare work programs.
- Lead the audit team in documenting business and technology processes related to the entity being audited.
- Execute testing of controls to assess adequacy of design and operational effectiveness in managing risk.
- Direct daily progress of fieldwork, inform managers and clients of status, and supervise team members’ performance.
- Leverage risk and control concepts to identify deficiencies and recommend process‑improvement ideas.
- Follow up on audit and regulatory issues.
- Review audit work papers and provide coaching and feedback to auditors.
- Prepare draft audit reports, ensuring all audit objectives and results are documented in accordance with defined standards.
- Communicate findings to management through update meetings, presentations, and internal audit reports.
- Establish, foster and maintain working relationships with peers and management across business lines.
- Deliver value to internal and external customers.
- Identify and continuously monitor risks and other potential exposures to the Bancorp.
- Lead continuous‑monitoring activities that assess changes in risk and impact on controls and audit plans.
- Apply industry knowledge to keep current on emerging issues and benefit the bank’s risk‑based audit program.
- Champion departmental processes and initiatives, including employee‑focused development activities.
- Lead and develop other auditors to ensure optimal performance and meet the Audit Division’s goals.
- Supervise assigned team members through active coaching, optimum utilization, and mentoring.
- Provide timely, effective feedback, including formal evaluations.
- Participate in and lead mentoring and education programs that expose staff to audit processes and business knowledge.
- Five+ years of experience in Fifth Third audit, large public‑accounting firm, or general industry audit, risk, or compliance roles.
- Proven supervisory experience.
- Banking or financial‑services experience preferred.
- Proficiency with MS‑Windows and related office applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and project‑management skills.
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid change.
- Results‑oriented mindset with sound judgment and logical/critical thinking.
- Maintains independence and objectivity in all aspects of the position.
- Knowledge of risk and control concepts, IT environments, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with Windows, Mainframe, Database, cyber security, risk‑manager governance, ITIL, architecture, and infrastructure concepts preferred.
- Enrollable in or hold professional certifications such as CISA or CISSP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related business field.
