Job Summary
The Connections Team Leader is responsible for taking strategic direction from the Connections Director and assisting in leading the team of volunteers who create warm and welcoming environments where seekers can connect with our community of growing Christ followers. This individual must be able to lead, shepherd, and produce results with the Crossroads Oakley staff and volunteers under the leadership and in collaboration with the Connections Director.
PrincipalDuties and Responsibilities
- People Developer:
Recruit, develop, nurture and shepherd volunteers. Encourage and build into volunteers in a way that fosters spiritual and personal growth, as well as growth for their teams. Lead large team meetings as needed. - Reproduce:
Lead Connections teams for which you have responsibility (Auditorium, Welcome Team, Parking, Coffee, Communion, Eco). Teams will major in reproduction and be welcoming, friendly, consistent, teachable, reflect Crossroads values and culture, and champion the spirit of hospitality. Be willing to step in for the Connections Director as needed. - Invite:
Continuously build the Connections team by recruiting and welcoming new members to the team, while also casting vision to volunteers that serving will help them grow as Christ Followers. - Operational Expertise:
Develop operational understanding of all Connections teams. Train volunteers on their roles and responsibilities to ensure all guests of Crossroads have an excellent experience. - Project Manager:
Acquire knowledge and execute best use of Crossroads database to communicate, schedule and onboard volunteers. Compile expense reports, maintain comprehensive and accurate records, schedule meetings and organize catering when necessary. - Outward Facing:
Champion the spirit of Connections with staff, volunteers and vendors. Work with vendors using good stewardship and integrity to secure contracts within a given budget as provided by the Connections Director.
- Strong relationship with Jesus and commitment to Crossroads vision and mission.

- Leadership, including experience leading large groups of people.
- Ability to supervise and mentor others; help guide through supportive relationships.
- Flexible, process‑oriented, supportive team player.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
- High initiative, self‑starter.
- Proactive in assessing needs with a readiness to engage.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Administrative and Hospitality gifting is a must.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and walk at least 3 miles per day.
- 40+ hours/week
- Sunday and Saturday services
- This role requires availability to work during all Crossroads Oakley services, which includes but not limited to weekends and major holidays.
- Available for work nights and/or weekends when needed
- Travel to other Crossroads’ locations for mandatory all staff events.
- Mission Oriented:
Committed to the Crossroads mission and expectations in the staff “I Promise” document, including using the Bible as the ultimate standard of truth, practicing spiritual disciplines, tithing, and pursuing personal purity. - Availability:
Expected to work outside of “normal” schedule for All Hands on Deck high‑impact events (Holy Week/Easter, Super Bowl, Christmas, others as needed), participate in all‑staff meetings, day of solitude, offsites, etc. - Authenticity:
