Position Summary
The Operations Director is responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of the Company’s Operations, ensuring the successful delivery of customer orders from order entry through site acceptance, with full accountability for on-time delivery, cost control, and target margin realization.
The role oversees the orchestration of all operational functions involved in project execution, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Assembly, Installation, and Commissioning, ensuring alignment between customer requirements, technical execution, and operational performance.
Acting as the central leader for execution excellence, the Operations Director drives engineering solutions and processes standardization, performance visibility, and actively supports continuous improvement across the entire order lifecycle, ensuring scalability, predictability, and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities:End-to-End Operations Ownership
- Owns the full execution of customer orders across the entire lifecycle, from order intake to final Site Acceptance Test (SAT), monitoring shipment forecasts and inventory levels according to assigned targets;
- Ensures alignment between commercial commitments, technical solutions, and execution capabilities to deliver projects on time and within budget;
- Accountable for as-sold margin protection and delivery performance across all assigned Operations.
- Establishes and drives a structured execution model, ensuring consistency, visibility, and control across all project phases, coordinating activities with Project Management;
- Monitors and drives performance across key milestones, including Engineering release, Procurement readiness, Manufacturing completion, Assembly, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Shipment, Installation, and Commissioning;
- Owns on-time delivery (OTD) and overall execution KPIs, ensuring proactive corrective actions where needed.
- Partnering closely and supported by the Project Management function, hierarchically leads and coordinates cross-functional teams across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Field Service to ensure execution plans are realistic, aligned, and effectively delivered;
- Ensures effective collaboration and seamless handoffs between functions throughout the project lifecycle;
- Act as product industrialization reference within the Company, coordinating teams across multiple projects.
- Drives proactive identification and mitigation of execution risks across schedule, cost, and quality;
- Ensures rapid resolution of critical issues impacting delivery or financial performance;
- Escalates and manages complex cross-functional challenges, ensuring timely decision-making.
- Oversees capacity planning and resource allocation across the Operations, ensuring alignment with demand and project priorities;
- Leads make-or-buy decisions and coordination with external partners where required to pursue most profitable and efficient solutions and operative scenarios.
- Ensures customer requirements are fully understood and translated into execution plans;
- Maintains strong alignment with Sales, Project Management, and Service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.
- Solid experience in operations, project execution, or Operations leadership roles within complex industrial or machinery environments;
- Value Stream mapping;
- Proven track record in managing end-to-end project execution and delivery performance;
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering interfaces;
- Experience in matrix and international organizations;
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to drive alignment across multiple functions;
- Results-driven mindset with strong focus on delivery, cost control, and margin realization;
- Structured approach to problem solving, risk management, and performance monitoring;
- Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field;
- Availability to travel, as required.
