Shift Schedule
Standard first shift | 40 hours per week
Position Overview- Perform structural and functional evaluations of robotic surgical instruments using custom test stands, axial load frames, and related laboratory equipment.
- Operate tensile/compression testing systems and electronics automation test setups.
- Troubleshoot test issues using advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Perform electrical measurements using function generators, digital multimeters (DMMs), and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to clarify test requests, ensuring accurate results and high customer satisfaction.
- Summarize, analyze, and report test data clearly, accurately, and within required timelines.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of test methods and processes based on prior experience and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work independently through multi-step test workflows while maintaining proactive communication with stakeholders.
- Support testing activities in the animal tissue laboratory when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 4 years of hands‑on product testing experience in a laboratory environment.
- Experience testing medical devices, preferably robotic surgical instrumentation.
- Axial load frames
- Custom test stands
- Tensile / Compression / Strength testing systems (e.g., Instron, MTS)
- At least 2 years of experience operating electronics and automation test equipment.
- Digital multimeters (DMMs)
- Test scripting fundamentals (Python or similar), with the ability to troubleshoot scripts.
- Strong understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills (both digital and physical).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication with cross‑functional teams and customers.
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capability.
- Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated initiative and accountability.
- Collaborative team player with a customer‑centric approach.
