Position: Assembly Technician

Division: Blackstone-Ney Ultrasonics

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: BNU Manufacturing Manager

Classification: Hourly, Non‑Exempt

• Assemble intricate mechanical components and systems using engineering specifications and blueprints
• Read and interpret electrical schematics to integrate wiring and electrical elements into assemblies
• Perform functional tests to ensure products meet design, quality and performance standards
• Inspect parts for proper assembly and cosmetic quality; identify and tag non‑conforming parts for rework
• Use and maintain assembly tools and equipment properly and safely
• Monitor assembly supplies, maintain inventory awareness and communicate needs to supervisors
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately and on time
• Follow all safety guidelines to maintain a secure and efficient work environment
• Support additional manufacturing tasks as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics
• Ability to distinguish all colors
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• 1–2 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment

• Clear verbal and written communication with teammates, supervisors, and other departments
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify process issues and suggest solutions

• Ability to stand for extended periods on a concrete floor
• Regular movement including kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, climbing or crawling as needed
• Ability to adjust visual focus and work with small, detailed components
• Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; heavier items with lifting assistance
• Traditional manufacturing shop environment with seasonal temperature variation
• Exposure to loud noise levels and occasional fumes or odors
• Required use of appropriate safety equipment and protective devices
