Overview

As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will complete mechanical assembly of TMS products, basic wiring and panel layout; perform maintenance tasks, integration, and repairs following both written and verbal instructions. You will work with mechanical tools and electrical test equipment such as meters, shakers, and test chambers, generate and update as-built documentation, ensure compliance with and support continuous improvement of the MSQS system, and support The Modal Shop’s goal of Total Customer Satisfaction by performing the following duties in a timely and accurate fashion.

Duties
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly and testing of components for TMS products.
  • Complete builds and testing by following established written procedures; follow steps on the product job router, write legibly, and sign and date router when steps are completed.
  • Ensure all products meet established test and/or calibration specifications and notify the Team Leader when they do not.
  • Use proper ESD procedures as outlined in the ESD procedure.
  • Observe all safety precautions per department guidelines when operating test equipment and keep area and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    One to three years in mechanical assembly and testing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates in MET or equivalent preferred.
  • Sound and vibration equipment assembly experience preferred.
  • Soldering experience preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee must be able to continuously work in an indoor production environment with moderate to loud noise level.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations

This position requires access to “controlled technology” as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730 et. seq.) and “technical data” as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R., Chapter 1, Subchapter M).
