Position: Warehouse A

The Warehouse A Employee is tasked with operating all machines, except Slitters; performs all warehouse and non‑machine functions. This involves material handling functions, packaging operations, shipping/receiving, order filling inventory and routine equipment maintenance.

Essential Functions
  • First Person each shift conducts daily Forklift Safety Inspection Reports.
  • First Person each shift conducts daily Crane Safety Inspection Reports.
  • Operates automatic banders efficiently.
  • Responsible for safely maneuvering overhead cranes to transport raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods throughout the plant.
  • Utilize transfer buggies to transport materials within the facility, ensuring proper staging for efficient workflow.
  • Safely operate forklifts to remove scrap materials and deposit them in designated outside scrap roll‑off boxes.
  • Exhibit adeptness in interpreting and comprehending processing orders to ensure accurate selection of materials for processing.
  • Efficiently loads and unloads trucks.
  • Handles unloading of lumber and skids.
  • Receives and stores supplies.
  • Ensures cleanliness by removing scrap from the floor.
  • Organizes skidded material storage.
  • Utilizes scanning technology for accurate placement of materials.
  • Adheres to assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S guidelines.
  • Maintains strict compliance with safety protocols outlined in the Plant Employee handbook.
  • Meets attendance standards as per the Attendance Policy.
  • Additional tasks as required.
Experience And Education

High school education or GED required. Team member must have the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced production environment. Must be able to also meet the physical requirements of the job including the ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet on a concrete floor for the entire shift. Team member must also be able to effectively communicate with others and work well in a team environment.

And Mental Requirements

Employees are standing/walking 90%; sitting 10%; lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed; reading charts, tags and written procedures; measuring material as required; printing or writing legibly to complete all required paperwork. Employee must be able to enter data in or operating system.

Equipment, Aids, Tools

Must be licensed for forklift and overhead crane operation. May be required to use calipers, tape measure, micrometer, hand tools, plasma cutter; and operate an overhead crane. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, and steel‑toed boots.

Working Conditions

This work site is in the plant. The plant is on one level, accessible directly from the parking lot. There are stairs at the shipping dock and up to the slitter platforms. There are seasonal variations in temperatures from 60 to 95 plus degrees; some exposure to diesel fumes as trucks move through the plant; noise level varies depending on a number of machines in operation.

Potential hazards include strains, cuts, and crush injuries.

Supervision And Co‑workers/Attendance Requirements

Supervision and/or co‑worker assistance are readily available. Attendance is closely monitored, as unscheduled absences may jeopardize meeting customer requirements due to insufficient staffing.

Consequences If Essential Functions Not Performed

Failure to follow established safety rules and procedures may result in loss of position or termination of employment.

Failure to meet the requirements of the Attendance Policy will result in termination of employment.

Failure to observe safety procedures in material handling may result in serious injury up to fatality and/or damage and loss of material or property.

Failure to move material promptly may result in production delays or customer delivery delays, which may in turn result in the loss of business.

Failure to complete appropriate paperwork may result in inventory shortage through loss of material or improper billing of the customer.

Improper storage of material may result in damage/loss of material.
