2nd shift Manufacturing Production Supervisor

The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for supervising 25+ employees, leading daily production operations, and coordinating activities of work teams. The role works closely with other Supervisors and Managers to provide resources, ongoing direction, decision‑making and problem solving to ensure safe delivery of a quality product on time to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate total team performance by active team engagement at the operation.
  • Execute the daily production schedule through utilization of people, material, machine, and processes to meet customer requirements, schedule compliance, and cost objectives.
  • Work with other Team Leaders and employees throughout the organization to assure production processes support the production plan and customer requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate quality checks and audits are performed by operators to provide product and process quality.
  • Lead the safety program in the area of responsibility through example and positive communication, employee involvement, and recognition, maintaining a clean and orderly workplace using 5S standards.
  • Administer employee job training, performance, wage and contract administration, discipline, policies, attendance, vacation schedules, labor reporting, and inventory accuracy.
  • Promote employee development through effective verbal and written communication, cross‑training, and appropriate use of teams for problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Complete corrective actions reports on major problem areas.
  • Establish and maintain Visual Factory Control:
    Kanban, JIT, Standard Work.
  • Develop and implement improvements in throughput, cycle time, and inventory reduction; coordinate process problems involving deviation from standard conditions.
  • Identify and support employee development and training needs.
  • Ensure policy compliance and apply policies fairly.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Team leader experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of operations, processes, equipment, and products preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles and Six Sigma application and usage.
  • Mechanical ability and technical aptitude.
