Production Manager, Operations Manager
Our client, a chemical manufacturer within the Cincinnati area, is seeking a Chemical Production Manager to join their team. As a Chemical Production Manager, you will be part of the Site Leadership Team supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to safety and quality, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Chemical Production Manager
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio 45204
Pay Range: $140,000 - $150,000 + 15% Bonus
Accountable for a large team spanning 4 shifts. Current shifts are 12 hours on a 2-2-3 schedule working 24/7 with personnel working 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, and 7:00pm-7:30AM. Must be flexible to support all hours of operations and available to make decisions and direct resources.
What's the Job?- Lead and manage a diverse team of approximately 70+ personnel across multiple departments including flaking, pastillation, production, and packaging.
- Set strategic direction to achieve site objectives related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and housekeeping.
- Drive a culture of compliance, ownership, and continuous improvement through structured problem-solving and operational excellence tools.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Participate in and facilitate strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to support operational goals.
- Proven ability to lead multi-shift chemical operations through supervisors
- Strong technical understanding of processes + structured problem solving
- Demonstrated maintenance/reliability leadership (TPM mindset)
- Ability to build and sustain a CI system (not just run projects)
- Strong technical background in World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
- Clear bias for action with disciplined execution through others
