Material Handler

POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Handler is responsible for the movement and storage of material for the business. Primary duties include receiving material, putting it away, moving it around, loading trucks, kitting material, maintaining electronic records, and strictly adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processing raw material throughout the facility.

• Work within and according to all company safety and health guidelines.
• Perform daily maintenance and inspection of the forklift or equipment assigned to use.
• Carry out the required SOPs for the receipt, storage, and issuing of materials.
• Deliver material to production lines to streamline production.
• Move materials from production lines to inventory locations when finished.
• Organize and consolidate inventory in the warehouse.
• Perform cycle counting and inventory reconciliation daily.
• Utilize and update the company’s ERP system as defined by SOPs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Use effective communication skills among all team members.
• Operate a standard industrial fork truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Complete any other related duties required and/or assigned by supervisor or manager.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least three (3) years of practical experience in a warehouse environment executing shipping and receiving tasks efficiently and safely.
• Ability to operate a forklift, reach truck, or picker.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Basic computer skills needed to work within company ERP system.
• Basic problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate verbally and electronically.
• Quality‑conscious, oriented to excellence.
• Self‑driven and safety‑minded.
• Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
