Summary / ObjectiveThe Production Associate position is responsible for supporting various production functions, including stripping paperboard cartons, performing bindery fulfillment, and ensuring maximum quality, productivity, and accuracy when working with a machine operator.
Essential Functions- Maintain safety standards while operating equipment
- Use a hammer, air hammer, or other scrapping device to remove excess material from pre-scored paperboard cartons
- Place stripped cartons neatly on pallets
- Keep a clean, safe work environment
- Read and follow directions as indicated
- Monitor print quality
- Count products for accuracy
- Box items for shipment
- Perform hand fulfillment duties such as folding boxes, hand inserting documents, or other materials
- Support other departments as needed
- Ability to read and write English
- Effective communication with multiple levels of the organization
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently
- Attentive to detail
- Excellent attendance required
- Basic computer skills
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience and EducationDirect mail, packaging, or print experience
Work Environment- Subject to heat: Work may be conducted in temperatures above 100°F for extended periods.
- Subject to noise: Work may involve noise levels that require shouting to be heard.
- Subject to hazards: Includes proximity of moving mechanical parts, forklifts, electrical current, high places, high heat, and chemical exposure.
Standing for the duration of the shift; using hands to handle tools or controls; reaching with hands and arms; speaking or hearing; occasional stair climbing; lifting or moving up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required depending on business necessity.
