- Availability Sunday – Saturday 8am to 8pm
Salary: $24/hr and up (pending experience)
Major Job FunctionResponsible for in-process inspection and testing quality verification, ensuring QA test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly, and documenting, sampling, and quarantining non‑conforming material.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations; wear PPE.
- Perform film inspection for all consumer packaging products and prepare COA data sheet for QA manager.
- Perform film inspection for retain and security products.
- Notify QA manager of any extrusion process problems.
- Perform incoming material inspection for railcar and truckload resins.
- Perform daily cleaning and weekly deep clean for lab area according to AIB standard.
- Maintain lab equipment and instruments; perform calibration and verification in accordance with ISO requirements.
- Perform lab inspection and test for film brought in by QA manager and/or Technical Manager, and prepare summary report for lab results.
- Assist QA manager in generating work instructions and lab test methods.
- Organize and maintain extrusion process checklist and work order sheet; maintain filing for extrusion paperwork.
- Maintain and file retain samples for extrusion.
- Support extrusion department training activities for extrusion operators.
- Must be able to work scheduled overtime.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree preferred with a concentration in mathematics.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior quality experience in a similar role using testing equipment strongly preferred.
- Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, effectively communicate, get along with others, positive attitude, and well organized.
- Solid working knowledge of quality processes and related manufacturing.
- Ability to make independent decisions regarding quality, customer complaints, etc.
- Ability to clearly set priorities on tasks and complete in a timely manner.
- Strong mathematical and attention to detail skills are a plus.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, etc.
- 2–5 years:
Previous QA experience in comparable industry/field.
