Position: 2nd Shift Manufacturing Production SupervisorThe Manufacturing Production Supervisor will lead daily production operations for a team of 25+ employees in a 2nd‑shift manufacturing environment. The coordinator works closely with other supervisors and managers to provide resources, direction, and problem solving, ensuring safe delivery of high‑quality products on time to internal and external customers. The role emphasizes a “Safety Always” culture and engages hourly employees in every opportunity.
Responsibilities- Facilitate total team performance through active engagement at the operation.
- Execute the daily production schedule using people, materials, machines, and processes to meet customer requirements, schedule compliance, and cost objectives.
- Cooperate with other team leaders and employees across departments to confirm that production processes support the production plan and customer requirements.
- Ensure operators perform required quality checks and audits to maintain product and process quality.
- Lead the safety program in the area of responsibility through example, positive communication, employee involvement, and recognition while maintaining a clean and orderly workplace with 5S standards.
- Oversee employee job training, performance, wage and contract administration, discipline, policies and procedures, attendance, vacation schedules, labor reporting, and inventory accuracy.
- Promote employee development through effective verbal and written communication, cross‑training skills, and use of teams for problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Complete corrective actions reports on major problem areas.
- Establish and maintain visual factory controls, including Kanban, JIT, and standard work.
- Develop and implement improvements to throughput, cycle time, and inventory reduction.
- Coordinate process problems that involve deviation from standard conditions.
- Identify and support employee development and training needs.
- Ensure policy compliance and apply it fairly.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Team leader experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Knowledge of operations, processes, equipment, and products preferred but not required.
- Understanding of Lean principles and Six Sigma application.
- Mechanical ability, technical aptitude.
