The Welder is responsible for producing high-quality welded metal components according to customer specifications and company quality standards. This role involves MIG and TIG welding, fabrication, grinding, drilling, and assembly work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Welder must be able to read blueprints, inspect completed work, and troubleshoot issues while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPerform MIG and TIG welding operations on a variety of metal components and assemblies.
Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings accurately.
Perform fabrication activities including grinding, drilling, tapping, cutting, and assembly work.
Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.
Troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues and make necessary adjustments.
Maintain welding equipment, hand tools, and workstations in clean and safe operating condition.
Log production activities and job progress into the ERP system (JobBOSS) as required.
Assist Cell Leader with quoting and evaluating new fabrication projects when needed.
Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely when required.
Follow all company safety procedures, ISO standards, and departmental work instructions.
Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Cell Leader or Operations Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment preferred.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of measuring instruments and inspection processes.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Technical training or welding certification is a plus.
- Positive attitude and strong commitment to safety and quality.
