Position Summary

The Welder / Pipe Fitter will perform high-quality welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication for industrial and commercial construction projects. This position is responsible for reading blueprints and isometric drawings, fabricating and installing piping systems, and producing precise welds that meet project specifications and safety standards.

You’ll work closely with project managers, fitters, welders, and other team members to ensure each job is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols to determine project requirements.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe according to specifications.
  • Fit, assemble, and install piping systems using proper layout and alignment techniques.
  • Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
  • Inspect and test completed welds and piping systems to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Set up and operate welding and pipe fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with project managers, welders, and fitters to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
  • Assist with layout, cutting, grinding, rigging, and other fabrication or installation tasks as required.
  • Maintain welding and pipe fitting tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Other shop duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of welding and/or pipe fitting experience in a fabrication or construction environment. At least 2 years of experience in stainless steel fabrication.
  • Proficiency in SMAW and GTAW welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and piping isometrics (P&IDs).
  • Must be able to make X-ray quality pipe welds.
  • Strong understanding of welding procedures, piping systems, materials, and safety practices.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying conditions (indoors, outdoors, heights).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
  • AWS or ASME welding certification(s).
  • Experience with industrial or commercial piping systems (carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, etc.).
  • Experience in structural stainless is a plus.
  • Forklift or aerial lift certification.
  • Ability to hydrotest and perform quality checks on installed systems.
  • Previous experience in industrial or commercial construction projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Dependable, punctual, and self‑motivated.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and project schedules.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Work Schedule

Full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday–Thursday, with Friday and overtime or weekend work as project demands require.
