Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Join our Family! B&G Foods is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation technician for its packing department in the Cincinnati Crisco manufacturing facility. The selected candidate will acquire operational skills in either the process or packing department and gain advanced E&I expertise. They will consistently demonstrate logical troubleshooting, a desire to develop advanced skills, and the ability to communicate and work well with all plant employees.

All work must be performed safely, timely and cost‑effective.

Plant E&I – Cincinnati

• Perform E&I activities daily to maximize production, safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Participate in root‑cause failure analysis for major downtime.
• Use computer tools (JDE, Excel) and maintain accurate data input.
• Problem‑solve with “Why‑Why” tools and coach operators in processing and packaging facility.
• Assist with routine maintenance, AM team defect fixes, and other technical tasks.

• Articulate thoughts and ideas verbally and in writing.
• Collaborate with operators, line leaders, and technical leaders on E&I issues.
• Participate in training to improve teamwork, creativity, and communication.

• Demonstrated functional leadership or other forms of leadership.
• Actively participate in AM, PM, or problem‑solving/FI teams.
• Own self‑training and qualifications as needed.

• Track and resolve troubleshooting to root‑cause and completion.
• Lead win‑win problem solving within B&G or with external contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Resolve issues for the team or department.

• Recognize problems and recommend solutions.
• Self‑directed and motivated; meet commitments, deadlines, and deliver results.

• Strong time management and prioritization skills.

• Collaborate at all levels of the organization.
• Active participation in team and plant meetings and activities.

• High school diploma plus two years of technical training preferred.
• 2‑5 years of electrical/instrumentation experience preferred.
• Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and other crafts.
• Successful completion of math and electrical aptitude tests.
• Willingness to flex schedule for training.
• Leadership skills: conflict resolution, communication, organization, prioritization, continuous improvement, safety mindset, cross‑functional teamwork.

• Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift and additional overtime as required.
• Qualify on operational skills and perform functions as an operator when needed.
• Adhere to plant attendance policy.
• Perform physical activities: climbing stairs/ladders, standing on platforms, working at elevated levels.
• Lift up to 75 pounds using proper techniques.
• Stand and walk at least 70% of the time.
