The Work You’ll Be DoingIn this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or vertical milling machines
- Program, edit, and run CNC jobs at the machine as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
- Select tooling, fixtures, and setups to meet tight tolerances
- Machine parts to exact customer specifications
- Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspection
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM)
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Work in a high‑mix, low‑volume job shop environment
You will work with:
- Machine Types:
- CNC Vertical Milling Machines (3‑axis & 4‑axis)
- CNC Lathes (single turret horizontal lathes)
- Controls:
- Fanuc
- Haas
- Mazak
- CAM Software (Preferred):
- GibbsCAM
- Fusion 360
- Programming:
- G & M Code editing and interpretation
- Steel
- Stainless Steel
- Cast Iron
- Aluminum
- Exotic materials
- Plastics
Required:
- 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience
- Experience with CNC lathe and/or vertical milling machines
- Ability to set up, operate, and program CNC machines
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- Experience in high‑mix / low‑volume machining environments
- Ability to use precision measuring tools accurately
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak controls
- Experience with 3‑axis and 4‑axis machining
- CAM experience (GibbsCAM or Fusion 360)
- Strong understanding of G‑code / M‑code programming
