Overview
Night Shift Position with 10% shift differential.
Location:
Cincinnati, OH.
Wire EDM Machine Operator responsibilities include running multiple machines, identifying production issues, positioning work pieces, inspecting parts daily with inspection equipment, and performing part marking. The role requires troubleshooting with equipment and processing, plus daily inspection of the finished part marking. The work can be repetitive but requires continuous attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities- Set up and switch jobs as required
- Perform tasks efficiently and within standard time allotment
- Keep track of materials in the area
- Minor maintenance of machine
- Maintain an excellent attendance record
- Verify all parts are conforming before signing off on traveler
- Keep track of all scrap and seek corrective actions when necessary
- Run and maintain the function of 2+ machines in a manufacturing cell
- Maintain all inspection gauges and tooling as required
- Operation of Laser Marking machine
- Maintenance of marking machine and troubleshooting as needed
- Manual Part Marking Vibro pen and Engrave
- General part cleaning (i.e. clean line)
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
- Function effectively within a team environment
- Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards
- Must demonstrate a high ability and understanding in machining
- High School Diploma or equivalent (documentation required)
- Must meet ITAR definition of US Person (documentation required)
- Clear verbal and written communication in English
- Ability to run parts to specification on multiple machines
- Ability to read simple part drawings
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Windows
- Ability to use and read micrometers and dial calipers accurately after training
- Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics after training
- Follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Perform other tasks as directed by management within employee’s capabilities
- MTI is a safety-sensitive employer; pre-employment testing may be required
- Experience in conventional machining such as milling, drilling and turning
- Previous relevant machining experience or education/training in machining
Regularly stand, use hands, reach with arms, and communicate. Move throughout the facility and lift or move up to 35 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Noise level may be loud. Must use required Personal Protective Equipment.
