Set-Up Technician

The Set-Up Technician is responsible for helping the Injection Molding Process Technician with molds, completing setups, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of injection mold equipment.

Responsibilities include:

• Answering different machine alarms.
• Ensuring all hoppers are filled.
• Completing line clearance at the end of each run.
• Draining and cleaning hoppers and filling with next resin.
• Setting up auxiliary equipment.
• Performing mold changes and restarts.
• Assisting process technician where needed.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work to make the most productive use of available time.
• Ability to remain professional and calm in a pressure situation.
• Performs other accountabilities as apparent or assigned.

Qualifications include:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must understand plastics and different material characteristics.
• Good communication and ability to multitask and prioritize work to successfully accomplish job duties.
• Strong interpersonal skills a must.
• Self-motivated.
• Good problem-solving skills are essential.
• On an occasional basis, must be able to put in overtime (paid); perhaps with short notice to maintain production.

Physical demands include:

• Continuously lifting or moving material of light weight (up to 10 pounds).
• Frequently lifting or moving average weight material (between 25-60 pounds).
• Occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material (over 60 pounds).
• Sitting, bending, standing, and walking 100% of the time.
• Observe and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
• Safety glasses required.
• Steel-toed safety work shoes or boots are required.
• Must have sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform all required tasks.
