General Shop Labor
This role supports a busy shop environment by assisting with general labor, carpentry-related tasks, and basic fabrication work for products such as counters, shelves, and crates used in hotels and apartments. You will use hand tools, operate shop machinery, and contribute to shipping and receiving activities while working closely with a team on the production floor.
Responsibilities- Use hand tools to build and assemble counters, shelves, crates, and other wood-based products for commercial projects such as hotels and apartments.
- Operate shop machines and equipment safely and efficiently as directed by supervisors or team leads.
- Measure and cut materials accurately using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools.
- Perform sanding and routing tasks on wood and related materials to meet quality and specification requirements.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including handling, organizing, and preparing products for shipment.
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality standards to complete daily assignments on time.
- Collaborate with team members on the shop floor to complete projects and support overall production needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage and handling of tools and materials.
- Use personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear, and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in cross-training to learn different roles and skills within the shop as needed.
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively in a shop or carpentry environment.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Experience using sanders or routers in a woodworking or general shop setting.
- High mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and operate shop machinery.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production environment.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Ability and willingness to wear steel-toe footwear while on the shop floor.
- Experience in general labor, shipping and receiving, or carpentry-related work.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with wood finishing, including spraying stain, paint, and topcoats.
- Knowledge of fabricating and seaming solid surface countertops or similar products.
- Foundational knowledge of general woodworking tools, small hand tools, and woodworking methods.
- Willingness to be trained and develop new skills across different shop roles.
- Comfort working in a hands-on, production-focused environment.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a shop environment in Blue Ash, OH, operating primarily on a 2nd shift schedule, with standard hours listed as Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., subject to shift needs. You will work around woodworking equipment, hand tools, sanders, routers, and other shop machinery, handling wood products, solid surface materials, and related components. The role requires steel-toe footwear and adherence to all safety practices.
The facility promotes a team-oriented atmosphere where employees are cross-trained on various tasks and equipment, contributing to a dynamic and hands-on workday.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
