Powder Coat Painter B Band

Reports To:

Area Manager/Team Lead

Job Purpose

Powder coats per specifications. Assembles and tests products according to Engineering drawings and procedures.

The Job Title listed empowers the Incumbent with the authority to execute all duties and responsibility listed below. In the event of a conflict of authority, the Incumbent shall elevate to direct supervisor for resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform quality operations to meet customer requirements
• Hang parts on racks to ensure the best quality
• Remove parts from racks and inspect for quality
• Communicate if defects or imperfections are found
• Sort products by quality
• Perform grinding, finishing, and prepping
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate and maintain spray equipment
• Good organizational and communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Familiarity with hand tools helpful
• Previous powder coating experience (minimum of 2+ years)
• Able to pass pre-employment screenings and a respirator fit test
• Previous experience in Manufacturing/Job Shop environment
• Ability to accurately read a print/schematic
• Ability to follow and retain instructions
• Ability to operate machinery or industrial equipment and systems.

Working Conditions

Mostly standing work. Continuously lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs. (Lifting more than 50 lbs. overhead must be performed by using mechanical aids; if mechanical aids are not available, the lift will be performed by two employees in a team lift.) Detailed work with hands;

fine work and simple grasping. Position may involve bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and kneeling with occasional crawling and twisting. Periodic travel may be involved. As needed, will wo rk at a desk and a computer screen for extended periods of time. Must be able to manually enter data into the computer system and understand the screen and images that appear.
