External Relations Director Your Role in the Mission
As External Relations Director, you play a critical role in ensuring City Link’s mission is communicated externally, we engage with donors and institutional investors to support our work, and we invite others into our mission through events and public relations. This is a leadership role within the organization, which will shape our direction as a part of the leadership team and directly oversee staff and third‑party support for individual fundraising, fundraising events, communications, and grant writing.
WhatYou’ll Do Fuel our Mission
- Create the pathways to effectively engage donors in our mission, working with the Development Director to engage individuals and steward their journey.
- Set priorities and coordination for grant writing and institutional investor engagement.
- Lead the strategy and direction of (2) major fundraising events per year.
- Set the strategy for how we communicate externally through various mediums to engage our community in our mission and activate their imagination and participation.
- Ensure that our communication uplifts our mission and honors our clients.
- Engage media and news to amplify knowledge and engagement in our mission.
- Create and lead compelling community engagement events to increase awareness and connectivity with our mission.
- Help individuals translate from informed to engaged through events and activation.

- Comfort working in ambiguity and scoping solutions independently.
- Experience collaborating across teams and partner organizations.
- Experience with capacities of communication platforms like Mail Chimp, Canva, etc.
- Experience managing individuals and aligning a team toward common goals.
- Competitive Salary
: $70,000 – $85,000 (based on experience) - Amazing Benefits
