The Sr. Manager, Marketing Operations leads the planning, execution and delivery of Marketing priorities across the organization. This role serves as the operational driver for the team, bringing structure, visibility, accountability and urgency to projects while ensuring work is delivered on time and aligned with organizational priorities. The role must also be a strong writer and editor who can help shape clear, audience-focused communications that strengthen the United Way brand and drive organizational growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead intake, prioritization, planning and execution of Marketing projects, including impact, campaigns, donor communications, community outreach, events, digital content, direct mail, video, presentations and promotional materials.
  • Drive cross-functional deliverables and keep team members and organizational partners on task, ensuring timely decisions, approvals and responses.
  • Develop and maintain clear project plans, timelines, owners, deadlines and status updates for priority work.
  • Assess team capacity and resource allocation; identify bottlenecks, competing priorities and risks and elevate as needed.
  • Establish and continuously improve Marketing workflows, tools, meeting rhythms and project-management processes.
  • Maintain visibility into active work and provide concise, solutions-oriented updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Own and manage the integrated editorial and marketing calendar in partnership with Development, the Office of the President, Impact and other teams.
  • Help drive a consistent storytelling pipeline across volunteers, community partners, corporate partners, individual donors, staff leadership and community impact.
  • Write, edit and proofread high-priority communications, presentations, talking points, donor materials and other content as needed.
  • Ensure communications are audience-focused, accurate, timely and keep United Way at the center of the story.
  • Support coordination of vendors and external partners, ensuring alignment with timelines, quality expectations, scope and budget.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning meetings and proactively follow up on decisions, deliverables and outstanding needs.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to identify project goals, objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Leads the development, updating and implementation of Marketing department SOPs, including onboarding team members and ensuring consistent adoption of established processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, project management or a relevant field.
  • 4+ years of experience in project management, marketing, communications, or related fields, with demonstrated success managing competing priorities and driving projects through successful completion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent writing, editing, verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in project management software, collaboration platforms and workflow tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, anticipate needs, solve problems and drive work forward with urgency.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides leadership, management and oversight to Marketing team members, including coaching, development, prioritization and performance management.
