As a Volunteer Manager at City Link Center, you’ll build the relationships, volunteer experiences, and systems that help neighbors pursue holistic life change. This role is more than coordinating schedules; it is an opportunity to grow capacity, deepen impact, and help volunteers serve with clarity, care, and purpose every day.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, relational leader to design, manage, and continuously improve the volunteer engagement systems across City Link Center and its partner organizations. You will help determine how volunteers can best increase capacity, strengthen service delivery, and support client outcomes through a client-centered, faith-based, data-driven approach. The Volunteer Manager will be accountable for mobilizing, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers throughout the center.
The core of the job is building a strong volunteer engagement infrastructure that serves our clients well, supports them on their journey in meaningful ways and increases capacity for City Link and its on-site partners. The Volunteer Manager is responsible for establishing and executing volunteer training curriculum, providing ongoing support, managing recognition, and maintaining the systems that allow volunteers to serve effectively.
This role will also supervise the Operations Support Coordinator and provide direction, coordination, and consultation for volunteer functions within the Welcome Center. The Volunteer Manager will work closely with program, spiritual growth, and partner leaders to connect volunteer service to City Link’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and targeted outcomes. This position is responsible for delivering one of City Link’s core competencies: meaningful volunteer engagement that changes the lives of clients and volunteers while expanding the capacity of the center.

What You’ll DoVolunteer Recruiting and Intake:
- Create, evaluate, and improve approaches and materials to recruit volunteers.
- Work closely with the Spiritual Growth Director and Chief Program Officer to support church, university, and individual recruitment strategies.
- Host and attend recruiting events within the community to attract qualified volunteers.
- Support publicity opportunities to recruit, celebrate, and strengthen volunteerism.
Training, Support, And Recognition
- Establish and execute training curriculum for volunteer engagement at the Center.
- Give support, ongoing training, leadership development, and guidance for volunteers.
- Organize and participate in volunteer recognition programs and special events.
- Support volunteers through encouragement and practical problem solving.
Volunteer Engagement And Shift Fulfillment
- Directly manage fulfillment for hundreds of volunteer shifts per month, identifying gaps, coordinating coverage, and ensuring program needs are met.
- Work with volunteers, staff, and partners to coordinate coverage and maintain reliable volunteer support across the Center.
- Evaluate to continuously improve volunteer experiences and service outcomes.
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of volunteer communications and publications.
Continuous Improvement And Reporting
- Assess client, volunteer, staff, and partner feedback to improve volunteer engagement.
- Identify and lead a Volunteer Advisory Council to evaluate engagement and provide feedback.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and provide monthly activity reports on volunteerism.
- Identify and lead improvements to targeted volunteer recruiting and retention strategies.
Volunteer Systems And Processes
